Nite Moves is a classic representation of the city and community that is a great place to live and work. It is a real asset. I hope that the city continues to realize that it must serve its citizens at the same level as its tourists, and that means doing all it can to support the community sense the event creates. This translates to removing the fences, not worrying about the 'noise' of the music, and becoming more 'user friendly' to the team that seeks to put this on. Lastly, the fees are rising to the extent that it doesn't welcome runners without economic means. Please keep them in check.

Looks like a lot of fun, and a great supporting organization behind it. Too bad Connecticut is so far away, but that is part of the magic.

I am 16 years old and I ran the "Pier to Peak" half-marathon for the first time. It was a great expierence for me and now I get to say that I ran in a half-marathon and get to wear the shirt with pride. A must do event if you are a runner and haven't done it yet. I have to warn you though, you will be in pain. 13 miles up hill is a long way.

John and everyone else who helps and keeps Wednesday night moves series going on - I had the opportunity to take part in one of the Wednesday night moves events earlier this summer. WHAT A BLAST! I live in Alaska and travel quite a bit during the summer months in the lower 48 - (that's you guys!) and I am always watchful for FUN, INTERESTING events that I can take part in without having to go through major training to prepare or be disappointed because the sign up dates had passed and the event is full! I think what I enjoyed most was the DIVERSITY of folks who were participating. Often, events exclude first timers or novices in a sport and if the event is geared to them then you NEVER expect to see seasoned athletes taking part. I noticed Moms walking/jogging the run portion of the event (and what a GREAT route to do just before a bite to eat!) A group of high school students were also enjoying supporting one another on the swim portion and it was evident that friends gather each week to catch up with one another. Simply put: Great folks - food and music is great - door prizes are awesome - and how can you not just love Santa Barbara sunsets! Count me in every time I visit my old stomping grounds of Santa Barbara!

I was recently in Santa Barbara on a Rotary Group Study Exchange and had the pleasure of being hosted by Dave and Judy Groome, regular participants in your events, and they introduced me to your Wenesday evening run on 10 May 2000. I had a lot of fun and have had a lot of comments about the "T" shirt I brought back. Running is a very popular activity in this part of the world and it was great to meet fellow runners in California! If anybody should ever be in this part of the world, drop us a line and we'll try to reciprocate the friendship and hospitality we got. - Excellent! I would very much like to make contact with Dave and Judy Groome and would be very grateful if somebody could get me their e-mail address?? Kind regards Adriaan Verhagen

Dear John, I recommend Nite Moves to everyone; it's a great running and social event that keeps the interest up on a weekly basis. I know of no other better organized regular event that has such a pleasant setting and provides guilt-free eating and drinking. I've got your link on our website. Steve
